Former Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup turns down Denmark job

Former Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup turns down the chance to coach Denmark following a series of talks.

Former Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup has turned down an offer to become Denmark's new manager.

A spokesman from the Danish Federation has confirmed that talks between both parties have broken down.

"Michael has terminated discussions because he doesn't think that the position of coach is the right one for him at the present time. He has personal reason," BBC Sport quotes the spokesman as saying.

The 51-year-old spent two years in charge of Swansea between 2012 and 2014 before being appointed head coach of Qatari side Lekhwiya last year.

Laudrup, who was assistant coach at Denmark for two years from 2000, left the Qatari club in June.
