Goals from Jamie Ward and Charlie Austin send Derby and Burnley in level at half-time.

A Charlie Austin equaliser has sent Derby County and Burnley into the break level at 1-1.

Conor Sammon could have opened the scoring for the home side after just two minutes, but he planted his header wide of the post.

It was Derby doing most of the pressing and Jamie Ward broke the deadlock with his strike on 20 minutes.

Ward had another shot saved before Burnley found themselves back in the game; Ross Wallace's shot was blocked but Austin made no mistake from the rebound.

The goal got Burnley going as first Chris McCann put a header wide on 36 and Frank Fielding saved from Austin.

No more goals meant that the sides were level at the half.
