Paul Clement: Bradley Johnson arrival a "major coup" for Derby County

Derby County head coach Paul Clement believes that the signing of midfielder Bradley Johnson from Norwich City is a "major coup" for the Championship side.

Paul Clement has said that the signing of Bradley Johnson is a "major coup" for Derby County following the midfielder's arrival from Norwich City.

The 28-year-old, who signed a four-year deal with the Rams this afternoon, was the Canaries' vice-captain and player of the year for the 2014-15 season, which saw Norwich promoted back to the Premier League.

The head coach told the club's website: "Being able to bring Bradley to Derby represents and major coup for the football club. As I have said before, the midfield position is one we have been trying to strengthen, not just with numbers but with quality, and Bradley certainly brings that in abundance.

"His experience will prove invaluable to us. He knows how to get out of this division, he has played a lot of Premier League football and is a leader. These are all qualities that we are looking to bring to Derby County and we are delighted to have a player of his stature and quality added to our squad."

Johnson scored 15 goals for Norwich last season.
