Derby County have confirmed that midfielder Jamie Hanson has signed a new three-year deal at the club.
A product of the Rams' academy, Hanson made his senior debut for the club in March and went on to be named their Under-21 Player of the Season .
His performances in his breakthrough season have impressed new manager Paul Clement, who said that he has the potential to become a big player for the Championship side.
Clement told the club's official website: "Jamie has got great potential for the future and we have confidence in him, which is why we have rewarded him for his progress with this new contract.
"He impressed me during pre-season and when he got his opportunity in the team a few weeks ago, he stepped up and performed very well. We believe that he can improve and progress further, he is still young and he has shown a willingness to learn and develop.
"It is a great story and it is fantastic for him as a Derby boy."
The England Under-20s international has started three of Derby's five Championship games so far this season after scoring direct from a corner kick on his debut against Norwich City in March.
