Robbie Savage blasts "ludicrous" Nigel Clough sacking

Former Derby County midfielder Robbie Savage describes the sacking of Nigel Clough as a "ludicrous" decision by the Rams board.

Former Derby County captain Robbie Savage has expressed his outrage at the sacking of Nigel Clough.

The 47-year-old has been removed from his position following today's 1-0 defeat at East Midland rivals Nottingham Forest.

Savage, who spent three years at Pride Park before retiring in 2011, tweeted: "Ludicrous , diabolical , ridiculous , stupid can't think of any more words to describe the sacking of Nigel clough"

Meanwhile, midfielder Craig Bryson, who is in his third season at Pride Park and has played 90 league matches for the Rams, simply added: "Poor".

Clough left Burton Albion to take over at County in 2009.
