Leicester City beat Derby County 1-0 in today's Championship match at Pride Park.
Both sides had chances in the opening minutes. First Craig Bryson shot wide for the home side from outside the box and then the Foxes then went up the other end as Chris Wood shot straight at Lee Grant from distance.
Chris Martin, who scored both goals in Derby's 2-1 win away at Brighton last week, had a good chance after 18 minutes, but his shot flashed over from just outside the box.
However, Leicester then had a great chance to take the lead. Jamie Vardy broke clear of the Rams defence but was denied by Grant, who stood tall.
Grant was again in the action just moments later, saving a close-range effort from David Nugent.
The Foxes' pressure soon paid off when Vardy struck at the far post after Derby failed to clear a Leicester corner. The ball took a nick off Grant, however, and went down as an own goal.
Derby had the first chance after the break, but Will Hughes's shot went well over. Bryson followed this with a 25-yard shot, but it failed to trouble the Leicester goal.
The Rams were pushing hard for an equaliser but the Foxes had numbers behind the ball and frustrated their hosts.
Hughes then had another chance but, after bursting into the box, his low drive went wide.
The home side were having the majority of the ball and could have drawn level when Martin broke free, but Kasper Schmeichel saved twice from the former Norwich striker.
After that Leicester held out for a hard-fought three points.
