Derby County are reportedly in talks to hand manager Gary Rowett a new deal with the club amid interest from Stoke City.
Stoke, who sacked Mark Hughes following the club's FA Cup exit to Coventry City, are believed to be considering former Birmingham City man Rowett to take over at the bet365 Stadium, but the Derby Telegraph says that the Rams will fend off any interest.
Rowett, whose current contract at Pride Park runs until the summer of 2019, will reportedly be offered improved terms to stay in the Midlands as the club look to secure his future.
The 43-year-old, who has impressed with the Rams in the Championship this season, has guided his club to second spot in the table after 26 games.
Rowett was appointed as Derby boss in March following Steve McLaren's sacking.
