Report: Derby County eye £2m move for Sunderland's Liam Bridcutt

A report suggests that Derby County are eyeing a £2m swoop to sign Liam Bridcutt from Sunderland this summer to boost their push for promotion to the Premier League.

Derby County are lining up a £2m move to sign Sunderland midfielder Liam Bridcutt, according to a report.

The Rams boss Paul Clement has already bolstered his squad this summer with the signings of Darren Bent, Alex Pearce, Scott Carson, Chris Baird, Andreas Weimann and a club-record move for Tom Ince from Hull City.

Clement has identified the 26-year-old as a solid option in midfield to aid his side's push for promotion to the Premier League after Bridcutt failed to start a game under Dick Advocaat at the end of last season for the Black Cats, reports the Daily Mail.

Bridcutt has made 36 appearances for Sunderland since his move to the club in January 2014.
