Championship outfit Doncaster Rovers have signed former Newcastle defender Andy Griffin on non-contract terms.
The 33-year-old has been a free agent since departing Reading at the end of last season and had reportedly attracted the interest of a number of lower league clubs.
However, he has agreed to join Doncaster on a short-term basis with a view to securing a longer contract at the club.
Griffin, who has also played for Portsmouth and Stoke City, could make his debut against Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday.
