Dundee United sign former Ajax striker Darko Bodul

Dundee United sign Croatian striker Darko Bodul on a two-year deal.

Dundee United have signed former Ajax striker Darko Bodul on a free transfer.

The 26-year-old Croatian has penned a two-year deal, joining from Austrian Bundesliga side SC Rheindorf Altach.

"He is technically gifted, skilful and a penalty box goal scorer," manager Jackie McNamara told the club's official website.

"We have been chasing several strikers this summer but once it became apparent we could secure his signing, this was one we wanted completed quickly.

"I am excited about seeing him wear the United kit and he will entertain and excite our fans."

Bodul came through the Ajax youth system before playing for Sparta Rotterdam, Nacional, Sturm Graz, OB and Rheindorf Altach.
