Scottish League Two roundup: Annan extend lead, Stirling derby ends goalless

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's action in Scottish League Two as Annan Athletic stretch their lead at the top of the table.

Annan Athletic have extended their lead at the top of the Scottish League Two table to five points with a 1-0 win over East Fife.

Peter Weatherson scored in the 15th minute but Annan had to play most of the match with 10 men after the striker was sent off before half time.

There was more than local pride at stake when Stirling Albion met East Stirlingshire but the two bottom clubs played out a goalless draw to see East Stirlingshire stay two points behind their neighbours.

Montrose moved up to second with a 4-1 win over Berwick. Gary Fraser two goals sandwiched strikes from Ross Campbell and Graham Webster with Finn Graham netting a consolation for the Borderers.

Elsewhere, Elgin City moved into the playoff places with a 2-0 win over Arbroath and rivals Clyde and Queen's Park drew at Hampden Park.

Results in full (half-time scores in brackets): East Fife 0-1 Annan Athletic (0-1), Elgin City 2-0 Arbroath (1-0), Montrose 4-1 Berwick (2-0), Queen's Park 1-1 Clyde (0-1), Stirling Albion 0-0 East Stirlingshire (0-0)
