Eintracht Frankfurt settle for draw against Hamburger SV

Eintracht Frankfurt extend their unbeaten run to four games by playing out a goalless draw with Hamburger SV.

Eintracht Frankfurt have missed the chance to climb up to third in the Bundesliga table after playing out a goalless draw with Hamburger SV at the Imtech Arena.

It was a promising start from Hamburg, who had won two and lost two of their opening four league games, as Johan Djourou came agonisingly close to an early goal when he peeled away from his marker to hit the crossbar after connecting with a free kick.

Unfortunately for the home side, it was the closest they would come to scoring but they enjoyed the better of the exchanges in the first half, with Aaron Hunt's low effort forcing Lukas Hradecky into a good save.

Frankfurt showed signs of improving either side of the interval, and they created a first clear opportunity when Stefan Reinartz beat the offside trap before seeing a shot pushed away by Jaroslav Drobny.

Poor marking from Hamburg then almost gifted Frankfurt a breakthrough, but an unmarked Haris Seferovic could only head over from a corner.

The pressure from the visitors continued to arrive in the closing stages, and despite growing in confidence late on, they were unable to capitalise as Hamburg held on for the point.
