Elche president Jose Sepulcre has revealed that the club are still in the market for Al Jazira forward Nelson Valdez.
The 30-year-old scored nine times in La Liga for Valencia last season before leaving to move to Al Jazira at the end of the campaign.
Recent reports suggested that Elche were keen on bringing the forward back to Spain and that interest has now been confirmed by their president.
"At the moment, we don't have plans for any more players to come in, although we are still negotiation to bring in a forward. Valdez isn't completely off the table, we are still negotiating for him," Sepulcre told reporters at a press conference.
Valdez has scored 12 times for Paraguay.
