England Women head coach Mark Sampson has stated that his side have "made history" by beating Norway to reach the quarter-finals of the Women's World Cup.
The Lionesses came from behind to defeat Even Pellerud's side in Ottawa and secure England's first ever win in a World Cup knockout match.
Sampson says that he is proud of the performance that the players delivered.
"They knew this was a big game and they wanted to write their names into our football history," he told BBC Sport.
"They have made history and deserve all the credit in the world. They stepped up and delivered for the country."
England face hosts Canada in the last eight on Sunday.
