David Beckham: Low expectations will help England

David Beckham is confident that England can have a successful tournament at Euro 2012 due to the low level of pressure on the team's shoulders.

David Beckham believes that England have a good chance of clinching glory in the European Championships due to the low level of expectation from the public.

The Three Lions have been known in the past to be tipped as winners of the major tournaments weeks before the event, but this year Roy Hodgson's side are heading to Poland and Ukraine with little pressure from the media.

"Let's hope we go out there and we're successful," said Beckham. "It's a new team, young players. It's one of the first times we have gone into a big competition without huge, huge expectation on our shoulders - that could maybe be a good thing for the team."

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder may return to representing his country this summer in the Olympics with Team GB.
