England have climbed two places to fourth in the latest FIFA world rankings, despite only reaching the last eight of Euro 2012.

Spain's retention of their European title ensures they remain top of the pile, ahead of defeated semi-finalists Germany, who go up one at the expense of Uruguay.

England are just ahead of Portugal in fifth, who went out to eventual winners Spain in the semi-finals, while beaten finalists Italy are big movers, rising from 12th to sixth.

Brazil, however, have dropped out of the top 10 for the first time since the rankings were introduced in 1991, with Denmark pipping them to 10th.

The European teams are naturally performing better than worldwide counterparts after the completion of the European Championships.
