England captain Steven Gerrard has said that the national team's performances will improve after a tame victory over Norway last night.
Ashley Young scored the only goal of the game after nine minutes, with England claiming victory for the first time since 1966 in Oslo.
Speaking afterwards, Gerrard, who only featured for 45 minutes, said: "It was a satisfying night overall, if you look at the result and the clean sheet, for my first game as official captain and Roy [Hodgson's] first game.
"We know that we can play better than that. Hopefully once we get used to the manager a bit more, and have more of his training sessions, and the message hits home a bit more, we will improve."
England next take on Belgium at Wembley on Saturday as preparations for Euro 2012 continue.
Hodgson's men take on France in Donetsk on June 11 in their tournament opener.
