Wayne Rooney believes that England are good enough to fight their way into the Euro 2012 final.

England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney believes that the Three Lions have the chance to go all the way at Euro 2012.

Roy Hodgson's side head into the tournament with surprisingly low expectations from supporters and the media. However, the 26-year-old is adamant that he and his national teammates will use everything in their power to get to the final.

"We know as players we're expected to do better than we have done in recent years, and we understand you're playing for England and there to be shot at," Rooney told the BBC.

"We need to give our all and it's important that comes across [to the fans], that we are trying, not just turning up. We do try and win, and if sometimes that's not good enough then you do hold your hands up. That passion is there with the players same as [with] the fans.

"I don't see why we can't win it. We've got the players and the quality, and with the new manager coming in it lifts everyone."

Rooney is ineligible to play in England's first two fixtures of the group against France and Sweden due to a UEFA ban but can return for the Ukraine clash.
