England coach Fabio Capello expects John Terry not to retire from international football after being stripped of the captain's armband.

England manager Fabio Capello expects John Terry not to retire from international football after he was stripped of the captain's armband.

The defender, who was informed by the Football Association of their decision on Friday, will face charges of racially abusing QPR's Anton Ferdinand after Euro 2012. Terry denies the charges.

Despite speculation that he could step down from international football, Capello is hoping to pick the 31-year-old for upcoming friendlies, according to The Guardian.

England kick off their Euro 2012 campaign against France on Monday, June 11.
