Former FA chief executive David Davies says that the FA may be considering sacking England manager Fabio Capello.

Former Football Association chief executive David Davies has not ruled out the possibility that Fabio Capello could leave his post as manager of England.

The Italian has publicly criticised the FA for stripping John Terry of the captain's armband.

Speaking to Keys and Gray on talkSPORT, Davies said: "I realised the seriousness of the situation when some senior people at the FA said they were questioning whether Capello had breached his contract in any way.

"I don't know whether he has or he hasn't but they are asking that question and that in itself illustrates the serious of the situation."

Davies acted as the FA's chief executive following the departures of Graham Kelly in 1998, Adam Crozier in 2002 and Mark Palios in 2004.
