England winger Stewart Downing has claimed that the team dealt well with the pressure during Tuesday's win over Scotland.
The Three Lions defeated the Tartan Army 3-1 at Celtic Park last night in what was a hotly-contested friendly in Glasgow.
England were tipped to find the atmosphere intimidating before the match, but Downing believes that they did a professional job against the Scots.
"They are a difficult team to play against, they are well organised and work hard and put us under a lot of pressure," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
"They made it difficult for us in the first 15-20 minutes, but I thought we dealt with it really well and I thought the quality came through with the goals. It was a decent performance from us and a good win."
Downing's appearance against Scotland was his first match for England in over two years.
