England slip to eighth place in FIFA's latest world rankings.

England have slipped to eighth place in FIFA's latest world rankings, despite winning recent back-to-back Euro 2012 qualifiers.

Uruguay, Portugal, Italy and Brazil have advanced ahead of Fabio Capello's side in the list that was announced today (Wednesday).

Spain have overtaken the Netherlands in the rankings to claim the top spot, while Germany stay third.

Wales have jumped to 90th, Republic of Ireland have climbed to 29th, and Scotland have reached 52nd, but Northern Ireland have moved down to 70th.
