Rio Ferdinand has claimed that England manager Roy Hodgson has agreed to consider him for future squads.
The defender recently pulled out of England's World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Montenegro due to issues over his fitness, despite not being selected for nearly two years.
Ferdinand, 34, then received criticism for flying out to Doha to act as a pundit for the team's 8-0 victory over San Marino.
"The manager has made it clear he will consider me for other England squads," he told Al Jazeera Sport.
Ferdinand has won 87 caps for his country since making his debut in 1997.
