England goalkeeper Joe Hart has rubbished claims that his side are going into Euro 2012 with low expectations.
England have suffered an unsettled build-up to this summer's tournament, with manager Roy Hodgson being appointed late on and his selection being scrutinised following the omission of Rio Ferdinand.
These factors have contributed to many fans having low expectations for the tournament, with many predicting that England will not even get out of their group. However, Hart insists that the team believe they can surprise people.
"We are all hungry guys and successful at football," said the Manchester City shot-stopper.
"We don't want to go there thinking people won't mind if we lose. We have to have high expectations or else there is no point in going there.
"We want to make people proud."
Hart, 25, has made 17 appearances for England since making his debut in 2008.
