Roy Hodgson reportedly wants Ray Lewington as his assistant in the England setup.
The pair worked together while Hodgson was manager at Fulham.
Despite still being on the Cottagers' coaching staff, Lewington is not believed to be as involved in first-team matters under Martin Jol.
The 55-year-old may have already been approached by Hodgson about a potential role, according to The Mirror.
England Under-21 boss Stuart Pearce has also been linked with a position in Hodgson's backroom team.
