Roy Hodgson says that England can still finish top of Group H in their World Cup qualifiers.

England manager Roy Hodgson has no doubts that his side can still top Group H and qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Three Lions' hopes of heading the group were dented when they slumped to a 1-1 draw against group leaders Montenegro on Tuesday night, which has left them two points behind their opponents in second.

Hodgson's side sit four points clear of both third-placed Poland and Ukraine in fourth having played an extra game, but the boss believes that there is still a long way to go yet.

"We knew it wasn't going to be easy to win here so maybe we should accept the fact that, given we couldn't maintain our level of performance through the 90 minutes, coming away with one point at least keeps us in control of the group," said Hodgson.

"But we move on. We have an interesting period coming up. The group is still there to be won and still in our hands so we must make certain that when September and October come around we are in good shape.

"We have three of the last four matches at home. We play our major rivals at home - so let's see what we can do in the autumn."

Wayne Rooney put England ahead in the match before Dejan Damjanovic's second-half equaliser.
