Ian Wright has tipped Southampton and England midfielder Adam Lallana to emulate Paul Gascoigne and become a World Cup sensation.
Wright believes Lallana is a surprise package for the Three Lions and backed the 27-year-old to shine in Brazil this summer.
Wright told The Mirror: "Who can do a Gazza? You have to look at Ross Barkley and Lallana. I'd say Lallana because of the way he has reacted to the pressure he has been under.
"He came into the squad as a creative player, having a great season for Southampton, and played the way people want you to play for England.
"You get chosen because of your club form and he's come in and done it. He's somebody who can come into the World Cup and be very, very good."
Lallana was part of the Southampton team in League One just three seasons ago, but the tricky midfielder has been one of the star players in the Premier League since the club's return to the top flight.
