Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon has expressed his belief that Fraser Forster should have been given his England chance at the World Cup ahead of goalkeeper Ben Foster.
Manager Roy Hodgson gave the West Bromwich Albion shot-stopper the number one role for the Three Lions' meaningless goalless draw with Costa Rica last week.
However, Lennon believes that Celtic's Forster should be playing second fiddle to Joe Hart at international level.
"I need to say I was disappointed for Fraser that he didn't get the nod because, in my opinion, he is better than Ben Foster," the Herald Scotland quotes Lennon as saying.
"Just being included in the squad was a fantastic achievement. He probably had the toughest test out of all the keepers available because he plays in Scotland, but he has spent the last two years performing in the Champions League and has been outstanding at that level."
England ended their World Cup campaign in Brazil with just one point and finished at the bottom of Group D.
