England striker Wayne Rooney has revealed that he was "pleased" with the way his side's qualifying campaign for the 2014 World Cup unfolded.
The Three Lions were forced to wait until the final match to seal qualification having dropped points to Ukraine, Poland and Montenegro earlier in the campaign.
However, a 2-0 win over Poland last month booked their place on the plane to Brazil, and Rooney was happy with the effort overall having remained unbeaten throughout the qualification process.
"It's been a good campaign, the aim was to finish top of the group and that's what we done," Rooney told TheFA.com.
"We played some good football in some of the games and we dug in in others. Overall we are pleased with the way it went."
England will face Chile tonight in their first match since beating Poland, before taking on Germany at Wembley on Tuesday.
