Former Switzerland international Marcel Koller becomes the coach of Austria.

Marcel Koller has agreed to take over as coach of Austria's national football team.

The 50-year-old former Switzerland international has replaced Didi Constantini, who was sacked in September after Austria failed to qualify for the European Championships in Ukraine and Poland next year.

Koller, who has previously managed FC Koln and VfL Bochum, has signed a two-year deal with the Austrian FA.

Interim coach Willi Ruttensteiner will remain in charge for Austria's final Euro 2012 qualifying matches against Kazakhstan on Friday and Azerbaijan four days later.
