David Moyes: We should have won

Everton manager David Moyes believes that his side should have won their Carling Cup tie with Chelsea.

David Moyes felt Everton were hard done by after their 2-1 loss to Chelsea in the fourth round of the Carling Cup.

The Toffees manager saw his side go down to an extra-time defeat at Goodison Park but he felt that they should have wrapped the game up in normal time.

"It was a game we probably should have won in the end and we'll probably come away from it a wee bit disappointed that we didn't go into the next round of the cup," said Moyes.

"We want to do well in the cup competitions and the players did that - they tried really hard tonight. We hadn't really given Chelsea a game a week or so at Stamford Bridge but we gave them a game tonight.

"We tried to make it as hard as we could for them and up to 90 minutes we should have won the game."

Everton return to Premier League action on Saturday lunchtime when they host Manchester United.
