Leighton Baines is eager for Everton to push on and challenge for a place in next season's Champions League during 2013.

Everton full-back Leighton Baines has urged his teammates to take their positive form so far this season into 2013.

Traditionally under the guidance of David Moyes the Toffees have ended each campaign strongly.

With Champions League qualification the main aim over the next few months, Baines has called upon the entire squad to replicate the results that they have produced in previous campaigns.

"If we can have a second half of the season like we have in the past few years I think everyone would be happy with that," he told the club's official website.

"The goal is to emulate what we have done in recent seasons and if we do we won't be too far off where we want to be.

"If we can do what we have done in the last few seasons, we will be right in the mix."

Everton have ended 2012 in sixth place in the Premier League table.
