Everton manager Roberto Martinez appoints former Trinidad and Tobago defender Dennis Lawrence as first-team development coach at Goodison Park.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has made an addition to his coaching staff by bringing former colleague Dennis Lawrence to Goodison Park.

Lawrence, who previously worked with Martinez at both Swansea City and Wigan Athletic, will join the Toffees in the role of first-team development coach.

The former Trinidad and Tobago international will work closely with Under-21 boss Alan Stubbs, while also ensuring that information is passed properly between coaches throughout Everton's academy sides.

The 38-year-old adds Lawrence to a growing contingent of former Wigan players and staff on Merseyside, which includes summer signings Arouna Kone, Joel Robles and Antolin Alcaraz.
