Everton boss David Moyes insists that Steven Pienaar should not have been sent off during Sunday's 1-1 draw at QPR.

Everton manager David Moyes has expressed his anger over Steven Pienaar's "ludicrous" red card in Sunday's 1-1 draw at Queens Park Rangers.

The midfielder was given a second booking by referee Jon Moss for what appeared to be an innocuous-looking challenge on Esteban Granero during the match at Loftus Road.

"I think sending a player off under the circumstances is a ludicrous decision, I really do," Moyes told Sky Sports News.

"We had the same referee against West Brom. He didn't have a good game that day and he hasn't again today.

"The referee must have known he was on a yellow card. It ruined our opportunity to go and win three points but the players did well to hang on to get something out of the game."

The draw has seen Everton stay fourth in the Premier League table.
