Everton manager David Moyes has indicated that he is looking to build a team around striker Nikica Jelavic this summer.
Jelavic arrived at Goodison Park from Rangers in January and has impressed in the Premier League, scoring 10 goals during his relatively short career on Merseyside.
Moyes has now admitted that it is vital to construct a squad which is capable of getting the best out of the Croatian forward.
The Scot said: "We're now looking at what goes with Jelavic, what would be good to put with him, what type of player we can buy in the future.
"In your mind, you are building a team because you have a piece in the jigsaw.
"Suddenly we have a forward who can score but we are maybe still lacking a wee bit of creativity."
Everton are currently seventh in the league with one fixture remaining.
