Mino Raiola: 'I'd have told Romelu Lukaku to ignore Everton'

Mino Raiola claims that he would have advised Romelu Lukaku against joining Everton had the agent become the striker's representative earlier in his career.

Mino Raiola has claimed that Romelu Lukaku wouldn't have joined Everton had the agent taken over as the Belgium international's representative earlier.

The outspoken Raiola, who represents the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mario Balotelli and Paul Pogba, became Lukaku's agent earlier this year.

Raiola claimed that he would have advised Lukaku against leaving Chelsea for Everton in the summer, and said that his client will move to a European superpower later in his career.

He told Sudpresse: "If we'd met earlier, he wouldn't have signed for Everton. He would have played for another club or maybe he would still be at Chelsea.

"If anyone says that Paul Pogba is the future of the world, [then] Romelu Lukaku is the Paul Pogba of attackers. Yes, he will become one of Europe's best forwards. I'm not saying this for fun, but when you see all that he has accomplished at a young age, it is only normal.

He has already achieved great things while he has not exploited its full potential. Later, he will play for a top club like Paris Saint-Germain, the two teams from Manchester, Barcelona or Bayern Munich."

Lukaku became the Toffees' record buy when he joined for around £28m last summer.
