Everton boss Roberto Martinez: 'We did enough to win'

Everton boss Roberto Martinez believes that his side deserved more than the point they took from the Merseyside derby against Liverpool at Goodison Park.

Boss Roberto Martinez has insisted that Everton did enough to earn all three points in their draw against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.

Danny Ings opened the scoring for the Reds after Simon Mignolet made two saves to deny Steven Naismith and James McCarthy.

However, Romelu Lukaku scored just before the half-time whistle to level the scores, but the Toffees failed to on to win the game in the second half despite enjoying the majority of possession.

Martinez told the club's official website: "I thought we did enough to get the three points. Mignolet made two outstanding saves. We are disappointed with the goal we conceded.

"Every time we had the ball in their half, we looked like creating something."

Everton are seventh in the Premier League following the draw.
