Team News: Phil Jagielka still sidelined for Everton

Phil Jagielka does not recover from his hamstring injury in time to captain Everton in their Premier League match with Cardiff, who make two changes at Goodison Park.

Everton captain Phil Jagielka has not recovered in time for the Premier League visit of Cardiff City this afternoon.

John Stones continues to deputise for the England international, who is struggling with a hamstring injury.

Ross Barkley drops to the bench after starting in the FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Arsenal, with Leon Osman and Gerard Deulofeu returning to the midfield to support lone striker Romelu Lukaku.

Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes two changes to the side that beat relegation rivals Fulham 3-1 last weekend, with Ben Turner not fit to retain his place in the centre of defence.

Spaniard Cala fills in for him as the Bluebirds revert to a back five, with Kenwyne Jones, who is only named on the bench, sacrificed for their trip to a ground where Everton have lost only once this season.
