Everton boss David Moyes has entered the race to sign Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard, according to The Mirror.
The 25-year-old has rejected a new deal at Ashton Gate and with his current contract set to expire at the end of the season, City had hoped to cash in on him in January.
There have been emerging reports, however, that Maynard could reject interest from Wigan and hold out for a bigger move in the summer.
Maynard arrived at City from Crewe in 2008 and has scored 46 goals in 130 appearances for the club.
