Everton have reportedly identified Elderson Echiejile as Leighton Baines's replacement, should the left-back move to Manchester United.
The England international has been a target for United for the majority of the summer, with former manager David Moyes keen to bring him to Old Trafford.
The Blues have so far been reluctant to sell their influential defender, but have since earmarked Nigerian Echiejile as a possible signing if Baines moves to the champions, according to The Mirror.
The Braga defender has a release clause in his contract for £4m, but could be available for around £1.5m, as the 25-year-old has just one year left on his current deal with the Portuguese side.
Echiejile was part of the Nigeria squad that took part in the Confederations Cup back in June.
