Everton have reportedly joined the race to secure a deal for Elche midfielder Gonzalo Villar.
The 21-year-old is currently plying his trade in the Spanish second division, where he has made 17 starts and one substitute outing during the current campaign.
However, his performances have seemingly not gone unnoticed, with Alicante Plaza claiming that the Spaniard is attracting interest from Everton.
While the Toffees are looking to strengthen in a number of areas, they have sometimes been left short in midfield this season due to injuries.
Roma are said to have recently made a €3m (£2.56m) bid for the player, while Valencia are allegedly keen on a reunion with their former player.
Villar has just 18 months remaining on his contract, putting Elche in a position where they must considering their options.
