Everton full-back Leighton Baines is reportedly close to signing a one-year contract extension at Goodison Park.
The 35-year-old's current deal expires at the end of this season and he had been expected to leave the club after falling behind Lucas Digne in the pecking order.
However, The Athletic reports that manager Carlo Ancelotti is keen to keep Baines at the club due to his experience and leadership on and off the field.
A number of MLS clubs are understood to be interested in the former England international, but the player's preference is to stay with Everton.
Baines has been with the Toffees since 2007, making 417 appearances and scoring 38 goals during his 13-year stay on Merseyside.
The left-back has seen first-team chances harder to come by in recent years, though, making just eight Premier League starts over the past two seasons.
