Everton boss Roberto Martinez to consider signing new players in January

Martinez open to January spending

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has admitted that he will consider bringing some new faces into the squad in the January transfer window.

The Spaniard made some late signings in the summer, with James McCarthy and loan players Romelu Lukaku and Gareth Barry all coming through the door close to the deadline.

During a press conference this morning, Martinez said: "We will be linked with many players. We will look at opportunities but now is not the time to talk about these things."

The Merseyside outfit could be without full-back Leighton Baines for six weeks due to a broken toe.
