Everton boss Roberto Martinez unsure if Lacina Traore deal will go through

Roberto Martinez says that Everton will have to play the waiting game with regards to their deal to sign Lacina Traore from Monaco due to Radamel Falcao's injury blow.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has admitted that the club will have to wait on news from Monaco regarding the proposed capture of Lacina Traore.

The 23-year-old was expected to finalise a switch to Goodison Park, but a recent knee injury to Radamel Falcao has thrown the move into doubt.

"It was shocking news around European football yesterday when a player of the quality of Falcao gets a long-term injury, but I hope that the decision of any of the players wasn't based on an injury to another teammate," BBC Sport quotes Martinez as saying.

"We will have to wait and see. We are really far down the line now. It will be a real disappointment not to be able to complete it. So, we will have to see what today brings."

Martinez has also claimed that the club are unlikely to make more signings if they are able to wrap up the Traore deal.
