Everton are not interested in Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton, according to a report.
The 30-year-old midfielder has issued a come-and-get-me plea to his boyhood club, even stating that he would be willing to take a 50% pay cut in his £70,000-per-week wages.
However, the Liverpool Echo reports that Toffees boss Roberto Martinez is not keen on the idea and will continue to assess younger options such as Wigan Athletic's James McCarthy.
Barton spent last season on loan at Marseille but is preparing to start the new campaign at Loftus Road.
