Stoke City have reportedly entered the race to sign Everton striker Victor Anichebe.
Speculation earlier today had claimed that West Bromwich Albion had opened up talks with the Toffees regarding the Nigerian centre-forward.
However, news of the 25-year-old's availability has alerted Potters manager Mark Hughes, who is eager to boost his striking options before the transfer window closes at 11pm tonight, according to the Daily Mail.
The report added that if Stoke are successful in their pursuit of Anichebe, then they will allow Cameron Jerome to depart the club.
Championship duo Wigan Athletic and Reading are believed to be interested in his signature.
