Brest enjoy comfortable win

An Eden Ben Basat penalty gives Brest a 2-0 win over Evian in this evening's Ligue 1 clash.

Brest beat Evian 2-0 to take all three points from this evening's Ligue 1 clash.

Evian had the first chance of the game when Daniel Wass broke free on seven minutes, but his finish went wide of the post.

The home side were then dealt a blow when goalkeeper Bertrand Laquait gave away a penalty and was sent off on 13 minutes.

Eden Ben Basat made no mistake for the resulting penalty and gave Brest a 1-0 lead.

Evian came close to an equaliser on two occasions through Eric Tie Bi and Cedric Barbosa, but both missed the target.

Brest put in some determined defending just before half time to deny two later efforts from Evian.

The opening stages of the second half saw Brest pile the pressure on Evian, but some staunch defending kept out both Bruno Grougi and Florian Raspentino.

Bruno Grougi doubled Brest's lead in injury time to secure all three points.
