Exeter City captain Danny Coles admits to "embarrassing" the club with expletive messages on Twitter.

Exeter City captain Danny Coles has apologised for 'embarrassing' the club following a number of tweets containing expletive messages.

The club have confirmed that disciplinary action will be taken on the 32-year-old for the messages.

"I would like to apologise unreservedly for my comments on Twitter," said Coles in a statement on the club's website.

"My behaviour was completely inappropriate and I am totally ashamed of my actions."

Coles joined the League Two club in 2011 and has made 114 appearances, scoring eight times.
