Ray McKinnon leaves Greenock Morton to take Falkirk reins

Falkirk announce the managerial appointment of Ray McKinnon from Scottish Championship rivals Greenock Morton on a deal until 2020.

Falkirk have announced the appointment of Ray McKinnon as their new manager on a two-year deal.

The 48-year-old takes the reins at the Falkirk Stadium just three months after joining Scottish Championship rivals Greenock Morton.

McKinnon leaves the Cappielow side in second place, while the Bairns prop up the table after three defeats.

"This is a very attractive position for any manager and I am really looking forward to getting started," the former Dundee United and Raith Rovers boss told the Falkirk website.

"It is quite clear that this is a club with a passionate support and excellent facilities. In recent times those fans have not had the success they deserve. It is now my job to bring that success and I am determined to do so."

Assistant manager Darren Taylor follows McKinnon to the Central Lowlands side.
