Vincenzo Montella says that his Fiorentina side did well to earn a point from their trip to Torino.

Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella has said that he is pleased with his team's efforts in their battling 2-2 draw at Torino.

The hosts had twice taken the lead thanks to Alessio Cerci and Valter Birsa, but Gonzalo Rodriguez and Mounir El Hamdaoui were on target to earn a point at the Stadio Olimpico.

"It was a fantastic game and both teams wanted to win," Football Italia quotes Montella as saying. "I really liked the way my side played, both for the quality and their maturity in trying to fight for the victory.

"Any other group would have let their heads drop after conceding the second goal, but [we] did well to grab the ball and try to score again.

"In all of this, we could've won or even lost."

Viola are currently second in Serie A.
